GreenPlumbers® is an innovative, national training and accreditation program that assists plumbers in understanding their role in the environment and public health. The organization’s goal is to train and deploy a green army of thousands of plumbers to promote the benefits of water conservation and the reduction of GHG emissions. The focus is on changing consumer and plumbing behavior through the use of energy efficiency and water saving technologies. As a grassroots effort, the plan is a voluntary one that can be implemented quickly without legislation or regulation. How can we expect the homeowners and business people of America to be serious and knowledgeable about water and energy conservation if the plumbers that bring the water and energy to their homes are not equally serious? The GreenPlumbers® goal is nothing less than complete culture change for the plumbing industry.

Our vision is that GreenPlumbers® will be the most recognized and trusted source of consumer water and energy conservation products and services in North America.

GreenPlumbers® will train, equip, and provide an army of knowledgeable green plumbers and contractors across North America, delivering conservation products and services to consumers and businesses.

We trained more than 3,000 plumbers in the United States in 2008, and expect to triple that number in 2009.

We will develop a process which will allow GreenPlumbers® to assist householders and businesses to monitor their water and energy consumption, thereby providing accountability and encouragement for maintained efficiencies. We expect that the GreenPlumbers® Licensing will strengthen the GreenPlumbers® overall program by maintaining integrity, continued educational opportunity, brand development, and consumer/business referral programs.
